Crete · Santorini · Athens

The sea, used properly.

Thalassotherapy, massage and skin treatments across three Aegean retreats. Salt water, warm stone, and therapists who have been doing this a long time.

About Thalos

Built around what the coast already does well.

Thalos began with a single treatment room in Elounda and a straightforward idea: seawater, mineral salt and Cretan olive oil do most of the work, and a good therapist does the rest.

Three retreats later that has not changed. Each location is shaped by where it sits — a beachfront thalassotherapy circuit in Crete, open-air gazebos above the Santorini caldera, an early-opening city spa in Athens for guests arriving off long flights.

Before you visit

Questions we get asked most.

How far ahead should I book?

In July and August, three to four days for evening slots at Elounda and Oia. Outside high season, a day is usually enough. Athens can normally take same-day bookings before 11:00.

I have a specific problem rather than a treatment in mind.

That is the better way to arrive. Tell us what is bothering you and how much time you have, and we will match a treatment to it — that is what our therapists are for.

Is the thalassotherapy circuit suitable if I do not swim?

Yes. The seawater pool is chest-height throughout and a therapist stays with you for the full circuit. Tell us when you book and we will keep the pace gentle.

Can you work around an injury or a medical condition?

Usually, but tell us in advance rather than on the table. We will adjust pressure and technique, and occasionally recommend a different treatment.

What should I bring?

Nothing. Robes, slippers and towels are provided at every location, and there are lockers and showers on site.
